That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Patience is not waiting. Biblical patience is something that is added to faith. It is steadily doing the what the Word says until the promise of God manifests.
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
Consistency is the key to the breakthrough.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
You cannot live a life of faith apart from the Word of God, because the Word is the source of faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
There can be no culture without the cultivation process. We must cultivate the seed of God’s Word until we see the harvest of it.
God’s Word will not return void.
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it .
Biblical hope is earnest and guaranteed expectation. It is hoping for something God says you have a right to expect. If you can read the promise in His Word, then you have a right to expect it in your life.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Don’t add patience to the wrong thing, or diligently wait in a place where you have no hope/right to expect. Get in the Word and see what God has told you is yours.
Apply patience to what God said in His Word that you could expect. The Word is like the title deed. You may not yet have the thing/promise , but if you have the title (the Word) it means you own it. Therefore you have a biblical right to be patient in expectation until that thing manifests in your life.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38 : all say that, “the just shall live by faith.”
There is an order of faith:
1) Make a decision
2) Hear the Word
3) Meditate on the Word (Vision/Hope)
4) Confess the Word
5) Act on the Word
6) Apply the power of Patience
7) Expect His Word to come to pass
Expectation will fuel you faith and patience.
The evidence of expectation is preparation.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Whatever you expect in life will dictate your patience.
Expect God to manifest His Word in your life.
