And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Ephesians 1:6 KJV
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God:the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
NOTE: The Shepherd would “ear mark” his sheep signifying ownership.
John 8:47 KJV
He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Hebrews 4:12 KJV
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
John 10:27 KJV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Psalm 95:7 KJV
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
PSALMS 23:1, 3
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP PART 3: PUTTING GOD FIRST
Matthew 6:21,24,33 KJV
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Deuteronomy 8:2-3 KJV
And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
— 3 Things HIs Word will do:
1. humble thee, 2) prove thee, 3) to know what was in their heart
(See Matthew 4:4)
THE SPIRITUAL LAW OF “FIRSTS”
Genesis 4:2-3 KJV
And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
— Cain gave “in the process of time”
— Abel gave “firstlings” to the Lord
— “First” mentioned and/or commanded 24 times specifically in the Old Testament.
— “First born” mentioned 16 times
— “First born” had to offered or redeemed (clean or unclean)
Exodus 13:12-13 KJV
That thou shalt set apart unto the Lord all that openeth the matrix, and every firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the Lord’s . And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
— Example: Abraham, Isaac – Genesis 22
— Isaac was redeemed by the lamb that God provided (a picture of Jesus).
Exodus 12:12-13 KJV
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord .
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are : and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you , when I smite the land of Egypt.
— The Israelites were saved from death by the blood of the Passover Lamb (a picture of Jesus) and their first born were redeemed.
Exodus 23:19 KJV
The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk. [baby goat ritual, poured out on the fields]
Joshua 6:18-19 KJV
And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated unto the Lord : they shall come into the treasury of the Lord .
— Jericho was the first city in promised land. Because it was the first city taken, it was consecrated unto the Lord.
— Note: Rahab was “redeemed” by faith (the red scarlet was a token of covenant).
2 Chronicles 31:5 KJV
And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
[v.6 they brought the tithe]
Jeremiah 2:3 KJV
Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord .
JESUS TAUGHT THE CONTRAST BETWEEN FIRST & LAST
See Matthew 6:19-33.
— The answer to the concerns of life (v. 19-32) are found in putting God first. It is then that “all these things shall be added unto you” (v.33).
Matthew 16:25 KJV
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
— The person who puts themselves first in life, loses in life. The person who surrenders first place to God, finds life.
Matthew 19:29-30 KJV
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
— Verse 30 is in relation to verse 29.
Luke 9:59,61 KJV
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
— these men wouldn’t put Jesus “first.”
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 KJV
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
— Our giving should be based on “as God hath prospered” and it should be “first” [before anyone or anything else].
— Recall Genesis 4:3-4, Cain gave in the “process of time”, not first.
Genesis 4:3-4 KJV
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord . And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
Romans 11:16 KJV
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy : and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
— Whatever is “first” controls the rest. This is the law of firsts.
— The law (principle) of “firsts” existed before during and after the Law.
Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV
Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
— If something was right under the Old Testamant/Law, does that make it wrong in the New/Grace?
— If something was wrong under the Old Testament/Law, does that make it right in the New/Grace?
2 Corinthians 8:5,8 KJV
And this they did , not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
— This chapter deals with giving. These believers were “first gave their own selves to the Lord.”
LAW VS. GRACE:
Matthew 5:19 KJV
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them , the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
— Doing and teaching the least of God’s commandments is to be the great in the Kingdom.
— Breaking the least of the commandments and teaching others to do so is to be the least in the Kingdom.
Matthew 5:21-22,27-28 KJV
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
— We are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). This does not mean that we have no respect to God’s commandments or laws. Jesus taught that are hearts should amplify in sensitivity to His word under grace.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Faith > Fear Part 3
Psalm 91:2,5,11,16 KJV
 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
NOTE: Verse 9 is in response to verse 2. All the benefits listed in this Psalm are based on the proclamation of verse 2, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge…”
NOTE: It is Jesus speaking from verses 3-13. He is the High Priest of our profession according to Hebrews 3:1. We see Him mediating the words spoken in verse 2 before the Father.
NOTE: Verses 14-16 convey the words of the Father in response to the words of the believer (v.2) and the Son [Jesus] in verses 3-13. His Word will not return unto Him void (See Isaiah 55:11, John 15:7).
Hebrews 2:1,3 KJV
 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
NOTE: The “Therefore” is in response to the previous verse —Hebrews 1:14.
Hebrews 1:14 KJV
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Luke 12:8 KJV
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
NOTE: When one is saved, Jesus informs the angels. We are appointed angels at salvation —ministering spirits according to Hebrews 1:14
Psalm 103:2,4, 20 KJV
Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Bless the Lord , ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
NOTE: Angels have been created to respond to the “voice of his word.” We have the power to “voice” His word when we declare it over our lives (Psalms 91:2).
Daniel 10:12 KJV
Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
KINGDOM STEWARDSHIP PART 2
1. The Lord owns everything
2. You can only manage what you have in your life right now
3. God must be first
1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Stewardship will make you free in every sense of the word.
Luke 16:10-13 KJV
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches ? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
There is no place in your life for God besides number one.
Am I putting God number one in everything in my life?
Whatever is first in your life, will control everything else.
If the first fruit be holy (see Romans 11:16).
God has to be number one in my life because he owns everything in my life.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you
Matthew 6:24-29,31-33 KJV
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Luke 19:12-25 KJV
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
Am I the kind of steward the Lord has to take what I have and give it to another? Or can the Lord put more things under me because of good stewardship?
Not trusting your prophet (pastor/preacher) can hinder your prosperity (See 2 Chronicles 20:20).
You ought to be able to see stewardship.
Matthew 24:45-47 KJV
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
God gives us seed to see how we manage it.
Study these verses by reading 5-6, then 1-4.
How you manage your seed will determine your break through.
Luke 16:10-11 KJV
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches ?
Faith > Fear Part 2
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
When faith is present, fear is not! (See Matthew 8:26, Mark 4:40, Matthew 14:30-31)
There is the law of spirit and life in Christ Jesus and the law of sin and death.
Darkness is only the Absence of light. It has no power and only exist when there is no light.
Hate exist when there is no love.
Ignorance exist when there is no knowledge.
Confusion exist when there is no understanding.
Fear exist when there is no faith.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (See Romans 10:17).
You have to break something spiritually before you break it naturally!
Fear affects your flesh.
Faith affects your spirit.
2 Kings 6:11-17 KJV
Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber. And he said, Go and spy where he is , that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord , I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Psalm 91:1-13 KJV
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord , which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Make a choice to choose faith over fear.
Fear puts limitation on God.
When you make a decision to live by faith, God will put no limitation on you.
Faith puts no limitation on God and God puts no limitations on faith!
