How To Hear From God-P.4 (12.28.16)

Luke 15:8
Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it ?

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When something is missing or broken in your life you cannot say that you have peace (wholeness).

When things are not where they need to be you will not have peace.

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Have you asked God for the answer you desire and are looking for?

Satan will always use what you don’t have to make you discontent.

Proverbs 20:27
The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord , searching all the inward parts of the belly.

God wants to speak to you and lead you through your spirit.

The Lord wants to show you things about you that you didn’t know.

Stop running after God for a word for someone else and chase after Him for a word for yourself.

Psalm 18:28
For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

There is no person that can complete you besides Jesus!

1 Corinthians 2:9-14
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.

Biblical peace is not happiness, it is wholeness.

Philippians 4:12-13
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Colossians 3:15
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Isaiah 55:8-12
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord . For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Never make a decision that you do not have peace with in your spirit.

Don’t move when you don’t have peace!

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord ; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

We can’t just take our desires to the Lord and only delight in Him when we get what we wanted. Rather, first delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.

When your spirit is illuminated it will change the desires of your heart.

Don’t be moved by your eyes or your mind, be moved by your spirit.

Christmas 2016- P.3 (12.25.16)

Philippians 2:5-11
[5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. [9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 2:9
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Galatians 4:4
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jesus was in the form of the Word before He was born. He is eternal. Thats why “a child was born.” But as a man, He was God’s son… “a son is given.”  He is God in man.

John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

From the very beginning God was sending a message that He had a plan. A manger was a place where Jewish families would keep the lamb they intended for a sacrifice. The manger is a place of sacrifice. God was sending the message that Jesus is a lamb destined for sacrifice. The first people to get the news that Jesus, the Messiah, was born were shepherds, who watch over lambs.

Isaiah 53: 7-10
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

Hebrews 4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

There is nothing we will ever go through that Jesus cannot empathize with.

To truly understand the significance of Christmas, we must look at the birth of Jesus as it relates to the entire scope of His purpose. He was born to die. From the very beginning, God had the plan of our salvation worked out. Even from the time of Adam, when we clothed them in coats of animal skins (Genesis 3:21), He was foreshadowing the day He would send His Son Jesus as the sacrifice that would cover our sins.

There can be no Christmas story if you only look at the story of Bethlehem.

Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus is the only one who took upon Himself the sacrifice that was required to free us from our sin and death. That is why He is the only way to salvation. There is power in the name of Jesus! God has exalted Him above every name!

Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Christmas 2016- P.2 (12.21.16)

1 John 5:9-13
[9] If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. [10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John 1:1,14
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus is the manifested Word of God.

Ps 40:7
Hebrews 10:7

Jesus is who He says He is!

John 5:36-41
[36] But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. [37] And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. [38] And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. [39] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. [40] And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. [41] I receive not honour from men.

Jer 23:5...Son would be King
Zac 3:8…Branch would be Servant
Zac 6:12… Branch would be God
Is 4:2…branch would be God

Serving is the model of the Kingdom for Him to use a life.

Hebrews 10:7-9
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. [8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein ; which are offered by the law; [9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Christmas 2016- P.1 (12.18.16)

Matthew 1:1,17
[1] The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. [17] So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

John 1:1

Jesus is the manifested Word of God.

Psalms 40:7 and Isaiah 3:7 say that Jesus came in the volume of the book.

Genesis 3:15 is the first prophecy about Jesus.

Romans 4  says that Abraham staggered not at the promises of God.

Abraham and Sara parallel Mary.

Luke 1:30-35
[30] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. [31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. [32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. [34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Luke 1:46-55
[46] And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. [48] For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. [49] For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. [50] And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. [51] He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. [52] He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. [53] He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. [54] He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; [55] As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his se ed for ever.

Psalm 103 …. Make a decision to magnify the Lord

Never forget to factor in the power of the Holy Spirit!

God always puts us in a position that requires faith…without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6

Genesis 17:16-18
[16] And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. [17] Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? [18] And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

Start believing God for something bigger … for something that requires faith, and for God to bring it to pass.

God will always have what He says –
Numbers 23:19
Ps 89:4
Is 55:11
John 17:7-8

Romans 4:17/ Hebrews 11:17…Abraham envisioned Isaac being raised from the dead

Isaiah 51:2
[2] Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Genesis 21:1-3
[1] And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. [2] For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. [3] And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.

Galatians 4:4

Genesis 21:4-8
[4] And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. [5] And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. [6] And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. [7] And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. [8] And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.

Is my faith matching the power and ability of my God?

Galatians 3:6-9,14,26-29
[6] Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. [7] Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. [8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying , In thee shall all nations be blessed. [9] So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. [14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. [26] For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. [27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. [28] There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. [29] And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Jesus is who He says He is!!

How To Hear From God- P.3 (12.14.16)

John 10:1-5
[1] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. [2] But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. [3] To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. [4] And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. [5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

As born again believers we are earmarked by the Word of God.

If you’ve been born again you can hear from God.

Proverbs 20:27
[27] The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord , searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Psalm 18:28
[28] For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

Communion with the Lord is a dialogue. We must use discipline to make time to remove the distractions and hear from God.

There are two spiritual inlets: what you see and what you hear.

You release out of your spirit through what you say.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10
[9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. [10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

God’s spirit will give direction beyond what you are hearing and seeing.

1 Corinthians 2:11-14
[11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. [12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.

4 things will happen when getting into worship:
1) it will eliminate distractions so that I can hear from God clearly.
2) it will expose my sin.
3) it will evict the enemy (because Satan will never join you in your praise and worship).
4) it will exalt God.

Romans 8:5-9
[5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. [8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. [9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

If my desires and passions are not lining up with God’s will then I am not delighting in him.

Delighting in God will give you an appetite for things you wouldn’t have had before.

Give God time to commune with Him and to shape your desires.

John 4:7,13-24
[7] There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. [13] Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: [14] But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. [15] The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. [16] Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: [18] For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. [19] The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. [20] Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. [21] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Don’t let the appetite of your flesh take you away from the leading of His Spirit.

Psalm 46:10-11
[10] Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. [11] The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

William Temple, the widely regarded Archbishop of Canterbury from 1942-44 wrote:

“Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness, Nourishment of mind by His truth, Purifying of imagination by His beauty, Opening of the heart to His love, And submission of will to his purpose. And all this gathered up in adoration is the greatest of human expressions of which we are capable.”

Be still in the thing you need clarity on!

There has to be complete submission to God.

1 Kings 19:9-12
[9] And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? [10] And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away. [11] And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord . And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord ; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: [12] And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

God cannot shape and grow a person that only responds to exaggerated events. You can’t always be moved by the next big event! God speaks in the still small voice.

How You See The World-P.4 (12.11.16)

Hebrews 10:7
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Psalm 40:7
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

God is outside of time. What sets Him apart is that He declares the end from the beginning. There were hundreds of prophecies written about Jesus before He was ever born, and He fulfilled them all.

John 1:1 & 14 …. Jesus is the manifested Word of God.

Isaiah 46:9-10
[9] Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure

Genesis 3:1-15,21
[1] Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? [2] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: [3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. [6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. [7] And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. [8] And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. [9] And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? [10] And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. [11] And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? [12] And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. [13] And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. [14] And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: [15] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. [21] Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The ultimate fear that rests at the bottom of all fears is the idea that you cannot count on the Word of God. The enemy will use trials to get you to doubt. But God is trustworthy. His Word is true, and you can always count on it.

Romans 2:14-15
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

Isaiah 41:4
[4] Who hath wrought and done it , calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord , the first, and with the last; I am he. (Genesis 5:1)

Psalm 8:4
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

God’s love is what motivated Him to send His Son.

1 Corinthians 15:21-22
[21] For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. [22] For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Romans 5:14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Sin and the affect of sin caused shame and separated from God.

Genesis 5:1…States the generations of Adam. God used the lineage of Adam to declare the end from the beginning.

Name               Means
Adam                man
Seth                 appointed
Enos                mortal
Cainan            sorrow
Mahalaleel    the blessed God
Jared               shall come down
Enoch             teaching
Methuselah  His death shall bring
Lamech          the despairing
Noah               comfort and rest

When you put the name meanings together, they form this sentence:
“Man was appointed mortal sorrow, but the blessed God shall come down teaching: His death shall bring the despairing comfort and rest.”

God declares the end from the beginning. Its what gives His word integrity.

John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

From the very beginning God had a plan to save man.

How you view the world is going to be based on how you view the Word of God.

How To Hear From God- P.2 (11.7.16)

1 Samuel 3:1-7

[1] And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. [2] And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; [3] And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord , where the ark of God was , and Samuel was laid down to sleep ; [4] That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. [5] And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. [6] And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. [7] Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord , neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.

We must acknowledge when the voice of the Lord is speaking into our spirit.

HEART
Having an ear to hear is the art of being a Christian.

You can take what you feel like you are hearing from God and He will confirm it.

We must grow past the point that we just hear a “yes” and “no” from God.

1 Samuel 3:19
[19] And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

  1. Character

Recognize the character of the voice of God through His Word.

John 1:1…
1 John 5:7…three bear record and these three are one

The Father is in unity with the Word and His Spirit.

John 8:47
[47] He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Every beloved should have an appetite for the Word of God and should hunger and thirst after His Word.

Every voice you hear is not from God.

1 John 4:1
[1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

We must weight things against the Word of God to see if they reflect the character of God.

2. Content

Recognize the content of the voice of God through His Word.

Proverbs 20:27
[27] The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord , searching all the inward parts of the belly.

1 Thes 5:23
John 4:24

If the Lord is going to lead you and give light, He is going to use your spirit.

What if your candle is not lit?

3. Confirmation

Recognize confirmation of the Voice of God through His Word.

God leads and confirms His voice through His Word and others.

Psalm 18:28
[28] For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.

The most important thing you do in life is hear from God.

Am I setting my self in a position to hear from God and removing the distractions and noise of the world?

Don’t be afraid to get confirmation…ask for it.

4. Conviction

You can’t stop someone that has been convinced, who has conviction.

Luke 15:8
[8] Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it ?

When you are searching for something you need your candle lit.

You don’t have to walk in darkness or confusion, God is able to light your candle and give illumination.
