KINGDOM MARRIAGE PART 6: DEFINING THE KINGDOM WIFE

Ephesians 5:22-24 KJV
[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Submission – respect and honor the seat of authority of the husband as the head of the marriage covenant.

Genesis 2:17-18 KJV
[17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
[18] And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

NOTE: God created marriage for advancement of His Kingdom.

UNDERSTANDING EQUALITY, ONENESS AND SUBMISSION

Philippians 2:6 KJV
[6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

John 10:30 KJV
I and my Father are one.

Matthew 26:39 KJV
[39] And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt .

John 8:28-29 KJV
[28] Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he , and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. [29] And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

NOTE: Though equal or one with the Father, Jesus submitted to the seat of authority held by the Father.

Genesis 3:1 KJV
[1] Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

NOTE: The enemy always seeks to undermine God’s order for the marriage.

1 Peter 3:1-6 KJV
[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word they also may without the word [something said] be won by the conversation [behavior] of the wives; [2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: [6] Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

Genesis 18:12-13 KJV
[12] Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? [13] And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

1 Corinthians 7:34 KJV
[34] There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

1 Corinthians 11:3,8-12 KJV
[3] But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. [8] For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. [9] Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. [10] For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels. [11] Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord. [12] For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

GOD OPERATES THROUGH ORDER

1 Chronicles 15:13 KJV
For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
[13] Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Proverbs 16:25 (14:12) KJV
[25] There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Faith > Fear Part 1: Choosing Faith Over Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Isaiah 34:16 KJV
Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate:
for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them

Hosea 4:6… Destroyed for a lack of knowledge
Isaiah 5:13… Gone into captivity because they have no knowledge
Psalm 89:34… God will not break His covenant
John 15:7… If we abide in His Word…
Isaiah 55:11… His Word will not return void

The most powerful position, is that of a born again believer to declare the Word of God in the authority of the name of Jesus.

Luke 17…increase our faith

Treat faith like seed.

Romans 10:17… Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God

Isaiah 54:14-17 KJV
[14] In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. [15] Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. [16] Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. [17] No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord .

Oppression is when you are under illegitimate authority.

Fear is the door to oppression.

Hebrews 2:14-15

Fear is not reality

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

We are one decision away from living under fear or faith.

Hebrews 2:14-15 KJV
[14] Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The fear of death shouldn’t be the motive of your faith.

Fear is bondage

You have a choice when it comes to fear…choose faith.

Walking in fear you give the benefit of the doubt to the devil
Walking in faith you give the benefit of the doubt to God

Mark 5:21-24 KJV
[21] And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. [22] And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, [23] And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee , come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. [24] And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

God is always moved by faith.

If you feel like God is not moving in your life, exercise faith in your life.

Hebrews 11:6

Mark 5:25-28 KJV
[25] And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, [26] And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, [27] When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. [28] For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

You have the power to choose faith over fear.

God responds to faith decisions.

Mark 5:29-34 KJV
[29] And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. [30] And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? [31] And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? [32] And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. [33] But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. [34] And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Delay is not denial

Mark 5:35-43 KJV
[35] While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? [36] As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. [37] And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. [38] And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. [39] And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. [40] And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. [41] And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. [42] And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. [43] And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV
[19] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

When you make a decision… everything in you prepares itself to receive what you have chosen.

Your decisions set the course of your life.

The just shall live by faith!!!
Hebrews 10:38
Habakkuk 2:4
Romans 1:17
Galatians 3:11

Give the benefit of the doubt to God… make a decision to choose His Word!

Romans 8:1-2 KJV
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

KINGDOM MARRIAGE PART 5: DEFINING THE KINGDOM HUSBAND

1- SAVIOR

Ephesians 5:23 KJV
[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Savior – Girls look for “saving”
Savior – save, deliver, heal, protect, make whole

Genesis 3:16 KJV
[16] Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Ruth 2:10,13,15,19,22 KJV
[10] Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? [13] Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens. [15] And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not: [19] And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz. [22] And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.

Matthew 12:29 KJV
[29] Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

2- SANCTIFY

Ephesians 5:26 KJV
[26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Sanctify – holy, purify, consecrate, morally blameless
Cleanse – make clean, purge, purify

Malachi 2:15-16 KJV
[15] And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. [16] For the Lord , the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

You tend to look like what you think of yourself.

1 Peter 3:7 AMP
[7] In the same way you married men should live considerately with your wives, with an intelligent recognition of the marriage relation, honoring the woman as physically the weaker, but realizing that you are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.

Honoring, valuing.

3- LOVE

Ephesians 5:28-29 KJV
[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. [29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Nourisheth – bring up, feed
Cherisheth – warm, brood

Feed – The Word is compared to honey, bread, milk and meat.

Husbands are to warm (control the climate) the relationship.
Wives have the power to acts as a thermostat.

Ecclesiastes 4:11 KJV
[11] Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone ?

James 2:16 KJV
[16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

HOLY SPIRIT VOLUME 4 (PART 7): LIVE THE GIFT

1 Corinthians 1:7-10 KJV
[7] So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: [8] Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. [10] Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

NOTE:
– You can’t separate the spirit of grace from the Gifts of the Spirit…they are one in the same.
– A gift is not something you earn.

John 1:17 KJV
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

1] The gifts and grace of God are only available through One —Jesus.

NOTE:
– Grace is when you receive something that you did not deserve.
– Mercy is when you don’t receive something you did deserve.

Romans 6:23 KJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:17 KJV
[17] For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

NOTE: Jesus Christ is the avenue that we receive God’s Grace.

Galatians 2:20-21 KJV
[20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. [21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

The word frustrate mean neutralize.

2] The gifts and grace of God can only operate in a one kind of person —one who is humble and poor in spirit.

James 4:6 KJV
[6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

1 Peter 5:5 KJV
[5] Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

NOTE: Don’t put a ceiling on your life by walking in pride.

1 Peter 5:6-8 KJV
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

NOTE: The gifts and calling of God are without repentance

3] The gifts and grace of God are received by faith.

Ephesians 2:1-10 KJV
[1] And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins; [2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: [3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. [4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

NOTE: Relinquish yourself to be affective!!

4] The gifts and grace of God are carried out by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 10:29 KJV
[29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

NOTE: Be a conduit of the grace of God!!

KINGDOM MARRIAGE PART 4: THE FOUR BASIC NEEDS OF HUSBANDS

REVIEW:

Wife’s Needs: 1 Security, 2 Affection, 3 Communication, 4 Leadership

1 Peter 3:7
[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
[2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
[3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
[4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
[5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
[6] Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord:whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
[7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered

1 Peter 3:1-5 AMP
[1] IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them, so that even if any do not obey the Word of God, they may be won over not by discussion but by the godly lives of their wives, [2] When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him–to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband. [3] Let not yours be the merely external adorning with elaborate interweaving and knotting of the hair, the wearing of jewelry, or changes of clothes; [4] But let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which is not anxious or wrought up, but is very precious in the sight of God. [5] For it was thus that the pious women of old who hoped in God were accustomed to beautify themselves and were submissive to their husbands adapting themselves to them as themselves secondary and dependent upon them.

THE FOUR BASIC NEEDS OF THE HUSBAND:

1- HONOR

NOTE: Biblical honor is synonymous with respect and value.

Ephesians 5:22-24
[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Submit – ‘to rest in’ the wife rests in her husband as he rests in God.

1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man [husband] is Christ; and the head of the woman [wife] is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Proverbs 31:11, 28
[11] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
[28] Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

NOTE:
– Words of Affirmation & Physical Touch are generally the Love Languages of men.
– Don’t dishonor your husband with your words.
– Be sensitive to the ‘tone’ you use with your husband.
– Conversation has as much to with how you say something than what was said.
– You can say the right thing the wrong way and it not be received.
– You can say the wrong thing the right way and it be received.

2- RELATIONS / PHYSICAL INTIMACY

1 Corinthians 7:3-5
[3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
[4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband:and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
[5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Incontinencey- without self control.

NOTE: Men are stimulated by sight. Be visual, physical and creative.

NOTE: Most studies show men think about it twice as much as women.

STUDY: [Ages 18-25, thoughts on physical intimacy in one day]
Men: 1-388, median 18.6, avg 34.2
Women: 1-140, median 9.9, avg 18.6

Proverbs 5:18-19 KJV
[18] Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. [19] Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

3- RECREATIONAL COMPANIONSHIP

NOTE:
– Fellowship, Friendship, Not a mom
– Don’t be the reason your husband wants to get out of the house.
– Ask yourself if you’re the reason he wants to get out of the house (from you or with you?)

Proverbs 21:9 [25:24]
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

4- DOMESTIC SUPPORT

1 Timothy 5:14
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

WEDNESDAY September 30th, 2015

HOLY SPIRIT VOLUME4: THE GIFTS (PART 6):

1 Corinthians 12:1 KJV
[1] Now concerning spiritual gifts , brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

NOTE:
God has sent His Word so that we can know His ways and His thoughts.
Ignorance will bring you into bondage

My people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).
My people have been destroyed because they have no knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

NOTE:
The Word of God will make you free!

REVIEW:
-There are many gifts, but the same Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 KJV
[4] Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. [5] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. [6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

-Gifts profit the body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12:7 KJV
[7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

-Gifts are given by God

1 Corinthians 12:11 KJV
[11] But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

-Every member of the body of Christ need other members in the body.

1 Corinthians 12:14-17,26-27 KJV
[14] For the body is not one member, but many. [15] If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? [16] And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? [17] If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? [26] And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. [27] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

-We don’t benefit each other if we are all operating in the same gift…there are no insignificant gifts.

-The greatest in the kingdom is he who serves the least of these.

-There is no single gift that everybody operates in.

1 Corinthians 12:28-31 KJV
[28] And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [29] Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? [30] Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? [31] But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

-Love is far more important than gifts.
-Love causes gifts to operate.
-My motive for ministry has to be out of love!

NOTE:
-God doesn’t need us to put our flesh on His Spirit…we need His Spirit on our flesh.
-He will not any man have His glory…no flesh will glory in His presence.

-You can be gifted and not be sensitive to the Spirit…and not advance the Kingdom with that gift as God intended.

Acts 2:1-8 KJV
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. [5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. [6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. [7] And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? [8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Isaiah 28:11-12 KJV
[11] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. [12] To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Acts 2:8-11 KJV
[8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? [9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, [10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, [11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Acts 4:31 KJV
[31] And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

1 Corinthians 14:20-22 KJV
[20] Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. [21] In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. [22] Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

1 Corinthians 13:8-13 KJV
[8] Charity never faileth:but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. [9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. [10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. [11] When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child:but when I became a man, I put away childish things. [12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
