HOLY SPIRIT VOLUME 4 (PART 7): LIVE THE GIFT

1 Corinthians 1:7-10 KJV
[7] So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: [8] Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. [10] Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

NOTE:
– You can’t separate the spirit of grace from the Gifts of the Spirit…they are one in the same.
– A gift is not something you earn.

John 1:17 KJV
[17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

1] The gifts and grace of God are only available through One —Jesus.

NOTE:
– Grace is when you receive something that you did not deserve.
– Mercy is when you don’t receive something you did deserve.

Romans 6:23 KJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:17 KJV
[17] For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

NOTE: Jesus Christ is the avenue that we receive God’s Grace.

Galatians 2:20-21 KJV
[20] I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. [21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

The word frustrate mean neutralize.

2] The gifts and grace of God can only operate in a one kind of person —one who is humble and poor in spirit.

James 4:6 KJV
[6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

1 Peter 5:5 KJV
[5] Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

NOTE: Don’t put a ceiling on your life by walking in pride.

1 Peter 5:6-8 KJV
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

NOTE: The gifts and calling of God are without repentance

3] The gifts and grace of God are received by faith.

Ephesians 2:1-10 KJV
[1] And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins; [2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: [3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. [4] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) [6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: [7] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

NOTE: Relinquish yourself to be affective!!

4] The gifts and grace of God are carried out by the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 10:29 KJV
[29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

NOTE: Be a conduit of the grace of God!!

Wife’s Needs: 1 Security, 2 Affection, 3 Communication, 4 Leadership

1 Peter 3:7
[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
[2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
[3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
[4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
[5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
[6] Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord:whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

THE FOUR BASIC NEEDS OF THE HUSBAND:

1- HONOR

NOTE: Biblical honor is synonymous with respect and value.

Ephesians 5:22-24
[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church:and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Submit – ‘to rest in’ the wife rests in her husband as he rests in God.

1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man [husband] is Christ; and the head of the woman [wife] is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Proverbs 31:11, 28
[11] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
[28] Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

NOTE:
– Words of Affirmation & Physical Touch are generally the Love Languages of men.
– Don’t dishonor your husband with your words.
– Be sensitive to the ‘tone’ you use with your husband.
– Conversation has as much to with how you say something than what was said.
– You can say the right thing the wrong way and it not be received.
– You can say the wrong thing the right way and it be received.

2- RELATIONS / PHYSICAL INTIMACY

1 Corinthians 7:3-5
[3] Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
[4] The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband:and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
[5] Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Incontinencey- without self control.

NOTE: Men are stimulated by sight. Be visual, physical and creative.

NOTE: Most studies show men think about it twice as much as women.

STUDY: [Ages 18-25, thoughts on physical intimacy in one day]
Men: 1-388, median 18.6, avg 34.2
Women: 1-140, median 9.9, avg 18.6

Proverbs 5:18-19 KJV
[18] Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. [19] Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

3- RECREATIONAL COMPANIONSHIP

NOTE:
– Fellowship, Friendship, Not a mom
– Don’t be the reason your husband wants to get out of the house.
– Ask yourself if you’re the reason he wants to get out of the house (from you or with you?)

Proverbs 21:9 [25:24]
It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

4- DOMESTIC SUPPORT

1 Timothy 5:14
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

HOLY SPIRIT VOLUME4: THE GIFTS (PART 6):

1 Corinthians 12:1 KJV
[1] Now concerning spiritual gifts , brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

NOTE:
God has sent His Word so that we can know His ways and His thoughts.
Ignorance will bring you into bondage

My people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).
My people have been destroyed because they have no knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

NOTE:
The Word of God will make you free!

REVIEW:
-There are many gifts, but the same Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 KJV
[4] Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. [5] And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. [6] And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

-Gifts profit the body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12:7 KJV
[7] But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

-Gifts are given by God

1 Corinthians 12:11 KJV
[11] But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

-Every member of the body of Christ need other members in the body.

1 Corinthians 12:14-17,26-27 KJV
[14] For the body is not one member, but many. [15] If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? [16] And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? [17] If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? [26] And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. [27] Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

-We don’t benefit each other if we are all operating in the same gift…there are no insignificant gifts.

-The greatest in the kingdom is he who serves the least of these.

-There is no single gift that everybody operates in.

1 Corinthians 12:28-31 KJV
[28] And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [29] Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? [30] Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? [31] But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

-Love is far more important than gifts.
-Love causes gifts to operate.
-My motive for ministry has to be out of love!

NOTE:
-God doesn’t need us to put our flesh on His Spirit…we need His Spirit on our flesh.
-He will not any man have His glory…no flesh will glory in His presence.

-You can be gifted and not be sensitive to the Spirit…and not advance the Kingdom with that gift as God intended.

Acts 2:1-8 KJV
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. KINGDOM MARRIAGE PART 1  THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ALL NEEDS

Matthew 6:33 KJV
[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
 
1. God meets needs through relationships (people), but that doesn’t make them the source.
2. The greater the relationship, the higher the expectations. Unmet expectations leads to offense.
3. God ordained marriage to fill a void but your spouse is not the source (Genesis 2).
4. What plaques most marriages today is unmet expectations.
 
II- THE KINGDOM OF GOD OPERATES BY CULTIVATING
 
Matthew 13:24 KJV
[24] Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
 
1. Sow based on what you want to reap.
2. Reap based on what you have sown. Don’t sow based on what you have reaped.
2. Jesus is the Lord of the harvest. We are not called to control the harvest.

III- RELATIONSHIPS MUST OPERATE BY THE KINGDOM OF GOD
 
1 Corinthians 6:9 KJV
[9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
 
Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

[20] Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her. IV- FOUR BASIC NEEDS OF ALL MANKIND:
1. Acceptance: knowing you are loved and needed by others
2. Identity: knowing you are individually significant and special
3. Security: knowing you are well protected and provided for
4. Purpose: knowing you have a reason for living. In the case of Christians, this means knowing that God has a special plan for your life.”

[15] The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. [16] Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. [17] The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: [18] For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
