SUNDAY 06/14/15

  • : the power or opportunity to do something before others do
  • : the energy and desire that is needed to do something without being prompted by others
  • : an act or strategy intended to resolve a difficulty or improve a situation; a fresh approach to something
NOTE: You can’t get ahead of anyone else as a leader without initiative.
Proverbs 6:6-11 KJV
[6] Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: [7] Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, [8] Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. [9] How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? [10] Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: [11] So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
-Don’t wait for direction. When you see there’s a need, move on it!
-Take the initiative to do what you know needs to be done without waiting to be told.
-It’s easier to redirect motion than to push someone to move.
-Don’t sit around with complacent men (Psalms 1:1-3).
-Those who are responsible take initiative.

[8] If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
With Israel ready to return to Egypt with the news of the “giants” in the land and Moses and Aaron on their faces before God, these men declared the Word of faith!
F. Nehemiah rebuilding the wall.
Nehemiah 1 – He repented for generational and national sins and reminded God of His promise and asked for the task to prosper.

SUNDAY 06/07/15

Daniel 6:3 KJV
[3] Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
-It is the heart of WOGM to operate in the Spirit of excellence.
-I’d rather do ten things in excellence that twenty things average.
-We can’t advance in our vision until we have developed and matured where we are.
Execute – done. Executive (CEO) get things done. People seek those who get things done.

2 Peter 1:10
Proverbs 25:2 KJV

SUNDAY 05/31/15

Matthew 20:21-23 KJV
[21] And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. [22] But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. [23] And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
THE QUESTION: a) The Price, b) The Position (Matt. 20:21-23)
The wrong question was asked; she sought position not price.
You CANNOT pray for a position.
a) The Price is set by your enemies; those who oppose your place in the Kingdom.
Examples: David, Joseph, Abel, Joseph, Nehemiah, Jesus
Hebrews 11
b) The Position is set by your Father.
Matthew 26:37-40 KJV
[37] And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. [38] Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. [39] And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt . [40] And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
Luke 14:28-33 KJV
[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it ? [29] Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it , all that behold it begin to mock him, [30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. [31] Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? [32] Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. [33] So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Position = the location where someone or something should be; the correct place.
Opposition = resistance or dissent, expressed in action or argument. Or. the principal political party opposed to the one in office.

SUNDAY 05/24/15

1 Corinthians 1:10-11 KJV
[10] Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. [11] For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
-Division is the enemy to vision.
-People (staff/volunteers/members/partners) are PROvision (Luke 10).
-You are here to be provision. It’s wrong to work for an organization and take payment for services that do not advance the vision of that ministry.
-Next year will not look like this year. We get front row seats to see what God will do next!
-Amos 3:3, can two WALK together except that be agreed? People of like-vision are moving; they are going somewhere!
-Division is the enemy to productivity. Let’s not sit around talking about what could have been different about a certain thing. Let’s get in line with where we are going and center our efforts on the big picture and move forward.
-Know where you are going, yet thrive where you are at.
-The sure way to stay where you are is to never duplicate yourself.
-Succession is essential for success.
-If I’m advanced from my position would I leave a void?
-If I left my position would it be noticed?
-measure leadership by how many you serve, not how many serve you.
The next step in forming your leadership ID is to create a personal vision. A vision tells you who you are (your purpose), where you’re going (your picture of the future), and what will guide your journey (your values).
VISION does three things:
  1. PURPOSE, it tells you who you are.
  2. FUTURE, where you are going.
  3. VALUES, what will guide your journey.
Should be listed in order of rank.

SUNDAY 05/03/15

Matthew 20:21,25-28 KJV

[21] And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. [25] But Jesus called them unto him , and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. [26] But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; [27] And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: [28] Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many

Malachi 3:5 KJV
[5] And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right , and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts.
Deuteronomy 16:18-20 KJV
[18] Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment. [19] Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous. [20] That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
Jeremiah 4:22 KJV
[22] For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

[23] And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
Colossians 2:8 KJV

2 John 1:9-10 KJV
[9] Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. [10] If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
Romans 1:20 KJV
[20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

WEDNESDAY, 4/15/15

[17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
